As we continue to share pertinent information and periodic updates on the Covid-19 outbreak, please feel free to reach out to me personally if you have any questions, comments or need direction concerning a specific issue. My cell is as follows: Julie (714) 889-9472.

Update as of March 24, 2020:

As you are aware, Governor Inslee has issued a Stay at Home order for the entire state of Washington effective March 25, 2020 at 5:30 PM.

Within the order, there are explicit exceptions for construction work and activities.

You will need to contact the General Contractor on each of your projects to determine if the project is still running.

For light commercial, residential and self-directed work, you will need to determine whether you fall within one of the explicit exceptions as follows:

Construction workers who support the construction, operation, inspection, and maintenance of construction sites and construction projects (including housing construction) for all essential facilities, services and projects, and for residential construction related to emergency repairs and projects that ensure structural integrity.

Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of construction sites and construction projects (including those that support such projects to ensure the availability of needed facilities, transportation, energy and communications; and support to ensure the effective removal, storage, and disposal of solid waste and hazardous waste)

Workers providing, maintaining and repairing heating, cooling and refrigeration services

If you continue to work during the Stay at Home Order, please be mindful of the safety and health of your workforce. SMACNA is working with Local 66 on additional strategies to accomplish this goal, and we will update you accordingly. Please also consider drafting an "Essential Employee" letter for your employees to carry while the Stay at Home Order is in place. (Attached for your Reference. Correction from 3/23 please have a supervisor or manager sign the letter).

If you have any questions concerning interpretation, please do not hesitate to contact me on my cell at (714) 889-9472.
