Foreman Upgrade Training

SMACNA-Western Washington is pleased to announce specialized Foreman Upgrade Training, a 12-part series scheduled monthly throughout 2025. This training aligns with the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and supports professional development for Foremen and Lead Foremen in our industry.

Upon successful completion of the required 16 CTE hours, eligible foremen may increase their wage from 10% to 12.5% and lead foremen may increase their wage from 15% to 17.5%. Please email us for a copy of the policy.

Trainings will be held at the SeaTac Marriott from 4:00pm – 8:00pm with dinner served.

A flyer with a complete description including registration links for each training will be sent prior to the training course. Registrations will be sent from SMACNA – Western Washington.

Overview:

SMACNA Western Washington is pleased to announce specialized Foreman Upgrade Training. This training aligns with the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and supports professional development for Foremen and Lead Foremen in our industry.

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to establish clear guidelines and procedures for recognizing and certifying Continuing Technical Education (CTE) credits for Foremen and Lead Foremen. This initiative ensures fair and consistent credit allocation while encouraging continued education and skill development in accordance with the CBA.

Policy Details:

CTE Credit Hours: Foremen and Lead Foremen must complete 16 hours of Continuing Technical Education (CTE) annually to qualify for wage increases.

Foreman Pay Increase: Upon completion of 16 hours, eligible Foremen may increase their wage from 10% to 12.5%.

Lead Foreman Pay Increase: Lead Foremen may increase their wage from 15% to 17.5%.

Training Schedule:

SMACNA has procured specialized and approved training courses.

Frequency: One class will be offered each month.

Format: Foremen must attend the training in person and complete the entire course to receive credit.

Authorization and Logging:

The JATC will authorize and log CTE hours upon successful course completion. This ensures proper documentation and compliance with the CBA.
